Célunk egy reprezentatív városi tér kialakítása volt, melyet a városlakók szívesen használnak, és amely jelentõs idegenforgalmi vonzerõvel rendelkezik. A kialakítandó térrel szemben támasztott követelményeknek megfelelõen a terv magába foglalja a kereskedelmi útvonalak meghosszabbítását, a sétáló utca nyomvonalának továbbvitelét, továbbá a környezetében lévõ történelmileg kialakult városszerkezethez és a mûemléki védettségû épületekhez való igazodás megteremtését. A teret igyekeztünk alkalmassá tenni a városi életfunkciók, tevékenységek befogadására (vendéglátás, szolgáltatás, kereskedelem, irodák, lakás, közintézmények), illetve arra, hogy az alkalmas legyen a város fejlõdésének, idegenforgalmi vonzerejének növelésére, úgy hogy mellette figyelembe vettük a belváros jellemzõ karakterét, de a megújító fejlesztéseket is.

A terv egységes épületrendszere, burkolata–utcabútor–zöldfelület képzés koncepcióra épül, modern javaslatot ad a hármas tagolásra, annak egységeit gyalogos passzázs rendszerrel összeköti. A város ortogonális tengelyeihez igazodó, hangsúlyosan kelet-nyugati fõ sétányokat finoman, a valós közlekedési irányoknak megfelelõen köti össze, vezeti a keskenyebb, szögben csatlakozó utakkal, amelyek egy másik derékszögû koordinátarendszert alkotnak.

 

We considered important for the plan to give the function to the planned square and to shape in terms of architecture, moreover, to take into consideration architectural values of the concerned area, as well as historical traditions and sensitivity of citizens.

Our main goal was to create a representative urban square, one with significant potentials in terms of attracting tourists, one that will be used gladly by citizens. In accordance to requirements, plan contains extension of commercial routes, elongations of pedestrian street to Dayka Gábor street, furthermore, creation of point of reference to historically emerged parts of town and buildings under art protection. Meanwhile reckoning with opportunities provided by Avas scenery and re-opening of now covered Szinva creek. We endeavored to qualify the square to house urban functions such as commerce, service, office, public institutions and be able to increase the town’s tourist potentials.

 

 

Taking into consideration conservation of the character of downtown, we created a square, capable of reception urban life functions and activities (catering, services, trade, offices, housing, public institutes) and capable of assisting to the town’s development and tourism capacity. The plan has been constructed along a deliberate concept – unified system of buildings, clothing, street furniture and green spaces – and offers a modern solution to triple proportioning, connects its elements with pedestrian passage system. The main east-west promenades – adjusted to the town’s octagonal axis’ – are lightly, accordingly to real traffic directions, connected and conducted with narrower streets that create an other rectangular coordinate system.

 

The idea of theme event places is unique and unconventional. At the west side the Chamber Stage Classical Music, the Open-air Cinema; on south side the Public Space Theatre, on north side the Grand Even Square in unity with terraces and systematically designed promenades would create an interesting dash of colors in the town’s everyday life.
