Gömböc héj Expo2010 magyar pavilon tervpályázat, megvétel A pavilon alapötlete a Gömböc (Domokos Gábor, Várkonyi Péter) nevû tárgy. A pavilon Gömböc felületének héjakra bontásával folytatja a feltalálók matematikai és héjszámítási kísérleteit, azzal a szándékkal, hogy a héjdarabok, mint a kínai szerencsegömb héjai több rétegben bontakoznak ki, a végtelen térbõl egy kisebb, kitüntetett aurát, nyitott, de izgalmas absztrakt teret hoznak létre. A pavilon külsõje egy felboncolt, transzformált Gömböc, melynek szétnyílása a Gömböcben rejlõ gondolatiságot jeleníti meg. A héjak látszólag a kínai császári palota ünnepi térsorát idézõ, szintén mûkõ és üvegbeton anyagú lépcsõzetes emelvényén helyezkednek el, azonban a selyemfényû mûkõfinomságú felületû betonhéjak a földbe csapódnak, odahordva az energiákat.: 
A Gömböc, mint feltalálója mondja, „térbeli yin yang”, de megfogalmazódik benne a mindig megújuló újraértelmezés és egyensúlyteremtés is, így bemutatása, a feng shuihoz méltóan, egy olyan építményben történik, mintha mégis az érintetlen természetben lennénk. Gömböc has two messages, on one hand it expresses that Hungarians since centuries, driven by some energy, recovered on their own from the most dangerous and severe situations, on the other hand it represents China’s resoluteness to revive and reconstruct its’ society. It is a new approach based on human values which contains values, articulated throughout the whole world and gathers its strength from Chinese overall philosophy, such values are: livability, environmental consciousness, sustainable development. Their conception along with their philosophy is based on knowledge. Here meets the idea of discovery of Gömböc, constantly renewing re-interpretation and balance-making. The pavilion’s basic idea is Gömböc, balance-searching of a homogeneous material in our space of gravity. The pavilion by unfolding Gömböc’s surface into shells continues mathematic and shell-calculation experiments of inventors with a declared purpose to unfold shell pieces in multiple layers similar to Chinese luck ball, thus creating a smaller aura, an open but exciting and abstract space from the endless space. The pavilion’s exterior is a transformed and dissected Gömböc, by opening it we can visualize its’ theorisity. Shells seemingly refer to lines of Chinese’s Emperors Palace, placed on artificial stone and light-transmitting concrete platform, however the silk-like lighted surfaced concrete shells impacts to earth channeling there their energy. Gömböc, as it was described by its inventor a “spatial yin yang ” its introduction – according to feng shui – is in a building, still, it has the impression as it would be outside in the nature. Thus, we wished to express the presence of cosmic energy in spaces created with lyrical shapes and forms. Leading designers: Judit Z.
